In a context where the environment is the most precious resource to be safeguarded, the 2023 edition of the Calendario Storico dell’Arma dei Carabinieri has been entirely dedicated to environmental protection. Each of the calendar’s artistic plates starts from an element belonging to the visual universe of the Carabinieri, revisited and interpreted in an iconic key. The goal is to tell the themes related to the daily work of the Arma dei Carabinieri with an imprint of elegance, formal cleanliness and visual synthesis that accentuates the institutional component. Thus twelve stages of a journey are born, revealing the important action of the Carabinieri in defense of the environment and the country’s territory, in protection of our wildlife and plant heritage, and in safeguarding an agrifood civilization that the world envies us.
The art plates are accompanied by 12 stories of environmental commitment and protection signed by journalist and writer Mario Tozzi.
For the first time in the history of the Calendario Storico dell’Arma dei Carabinieri, the 2023 edition evolves into an integrated art project with a complete digital ecosystem that includes a dedicated website
www.calendario.carabinieri.it and an NFT artwork.
The site allows the online enjoyment of the contents of the 2023 Calendar in an interactive manner, with a very intuitive experiential level that, through infinite scrolling, echoes the physical gesture of browsing, adapting it natively to the digital language.
To complete the project, for the first time in the history of the Arma dei Carabinieri, the cover of the Calendar becomes an NFT, a contemporary work of cryptoart extrapolated from the physical Calendar and made digital, animated, certified and sold paired with a special limited edition print of the cover. Proceeds from sales of the NFT will be donated to the Complex Pediatric Oncology Facility of the National Cancer Institute of Milan.
